The Rarely Told, Real Story of a Brave Vietnam Veteran: Mr. Michael Lantz unveils the experiences of a Navy veteran, shared decades after his service. Through candid interviews with his granddaughter, Shannon Maitland, Michael Lantz recounts his time in Vietnam, the challenges of returning home, and the long-lasting impact of war. This is a story of resilience, family, and the importance of giving voice to those who served.​
* This book was inspired by Dr. Ingrid Martinez-Rico, Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University, during her 2005-2006 Issues in Culture & Society course. Originally, the interview was to be included in an anthology of Veteran interviews. Tragically, in 2008, Dr. Martinez-Rico was in an automobile accident that changed the course of history. She suffered traumatic brain injuries and demonstrated remarkable resilience in her fight for recovery. Dr. Ingrid's passion for inspiring others through education, sharing transformative stories, and embarking on new explorations are incorporated into this book. After almost 20 years in the making, it is an honor to finally share this project with the world!
