  • Session Length: 2 Hours of Expert-Led Strategy

  • Total Direct Instruction: 12 Hours of Focused Learning

  • Prerequisite: A free, full-length official practice test must be completed before Week 1.

  • Supplies: Students need a dedicated notebook, pen, and pencil.

Week 1: Foundations & The English Rulebook
Understanding test design, mindset, and mastering the core grammar & rhetoric rules the test loves.

Week 2: Algebra & Advanced Math Strategy
Linear equations, functions, quadratics, and key tactics like "Picking Numbers" and "Backsolving."

Week 3: Conquering the Reading Section
Learning to dissect science/social studies passages and tackle challenging dual passages efficiently.

Week 4: Science as Strategy & Grammar Synthesis
Interpreting data graphs quickly and applying all grammar rules in mixed, timed drills.

Week 5: Geometry/Trigonometry & The Essay Framework
Essential math tools and a high-scoring structure for the optional essay.

Week 6: Pacing, Integration & Your Test-Day Game Plan
Final timed simulations, personalized section strategy, and locking in the confident mindset for success.

Shannon Maitland, MPA

For over 20 years, I have professionally tutored students from elementary school through college-level graduate students. 

At Florida Gulf Coast University, I helped facilitate a similar workshop for students preparing for the SAT and ACT Exams.  I am specially trained to determine learning styles, which in turn, helps me to recommend appropriate study skill techniques and time management tips.

For several years, I exclusively tutored students with disabilities and have undergone trainings on sensitivity, trauma and resiliency, person-centered outcomes, and diversity, equity, and inclusion training.

As a parent, I understand how important it is for our kids to learn their subject material and that, sometimes, it just takes someone else to explain it to them beside a parent. I'm happy to help translate the materials into ways your student will understand.
